Rava Idli

Semolina or ‘suji’ is a coarsely ground grain often used while making pastas, porridge or upma. Semolina is also known for its great taste and lovely texture. It is light and one of the best dishes you could consume during the night.

Semolina is also known for boosting energy. It is ideal for all those living an active lifestyle. It keeps your body charged throughout the day, helps you perform better and prevents the general sense of lethargy felt during afternoons mostly. 

Ingredients Required :


  • 1 Cup Rava
  • 1/2 cup Dahi/ yogurt
  • Eno (1 packet)
  • Salt
  • Oil

Directions

  1.  Mix rava and curd along with salt. Add water as required to make the batter which is neither thick nor thin. Keep aside for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Heat water in a Steamer or Idli cooker or Microwave. Just before pouring batter in in idli moulds, add eno or baking soda.
  3. Grease oil on idli moulds and add batter. Place the idli moulds in cooker or Microwave and heat. (12 minutes in cooker and 5 minutes in microwave).
  4. Insert a knife before Serving to check whether it is cooked properly or not. If it comes out clean then Remove and serve immediately with Sambhar.
